Whether you’re hitting the beach this summer, spending long days working in the garden or relaxing in the park, the heat and sunshine will affect your body in different ways; some good, some bad. Here are some five great beauty tips from SuperSavvyMe to help you cope in the summer heat and sunshine.
In order to protect your body from the harmful affects of the sun and promote the good affects, you’ll need to alter you health and beauty routine a little. Here are five top tips for summer beauty care to see you through the long, hot summer months (UK bound folk, you’ll just have to use your imagination!).
During the hottest months of the year, hair can easily become frizzy, dry and unruly. Luckily there are a few hair care tips you can incorporate into your routine to minimise the effects of the sun.
Firstly, in the lead up to a heat wave or beach break give your hair a few really deep conditioning masks to get it into great shape. If things really heat up, try just using conditioner alone when you wash your hair as it’s gentler than shampoo.
If you like to wear nail varnish, you might notice that during the summer your nails can become yellow and dry under the layers of polish. To prevent this, use a clear base coat, keeping the colour separate from your delicate nails.
The most important thing to remember is to keep your skin protected from the sun. Use a moisturiser with built in SPF for everyday protection and up it to a sun block if you’re spending a lot of time outside. Try to exfoliate as much as possible, this will help any tan you build up last longer and keep your skin looking healthy and bright.
However much we love the sunshine, spending hours squinting is bad for your eyes and can increase wrinkles. The easy answer to this is a good pair of sunglasses. If you buy shades with UV protection they’ll stop harmful rays from reaching your eyes and make you look glamorous at the same time.
To help keep your whole body healthy, it’s important to keep hydrated. Sweating will cause a lot of water to evaporate from your skin, so you need to replace it by drinking water throughout the day.
Follow these easy steps to make the most of the summer sunshine and keep your hair, skin eyes and nails looking great throughout the hotter months; no matter what the weather may be.
